1. Taking Care of the Believers. Eph 4:1-32. John 13:34-35.
a. Treating Each Other Right.
i. Loving each other.
1. It’s our trade mark.
Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Joh 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
2. Caring for each other. Each believer can do something!
a. Dorcas used her abilities.
Act 9:39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
b. Joses gave his possessions.
Act 4:36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
Act 4:37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
ii. Treating other believers with respect. Vs 1-3.
Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
iii. Treating everyone like Jesus did.
1. Don’t act like the unbelievers. Vs 17-19.
a. Proud
b. Alienated from God
c. Hopeless
d. Greedy
2. Do act like Jesus.
a. A new person. Vs 23
i. This is a choice!
b. Truthful. Vs 25
c. Avoid Sinful Anger. Vs 26
d. Honest in actions and work. Vs 28
e. Wholesome speech. Vs 29-31
i. Edifies (Enlightens, explains, informs)
ii. Ministers Grace to those who hear it. (Understanding, forgiveness, healing, growth)
f. Kind. Vs 32
g. Forgiving. Vs 32
b. Maintaining Sound Doctrine.
i. Adherence to Doctrine.
1. Meeting and studying together helps to remain true to the Word of God.
Eph 4:3 giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.
ii. The Study of the Scripture.
1. You have to know true doctrine to identify false doctrine.
2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2. Preparing the Believers for the work of the Ministry
a. Individual preparation. 1 Cor 12:4-11.
i. Identify your gift.
ii. Develop your gift.
1. Parable of the stewards and the talents. Matt 25:14-28.
2. You will be held accountable for what you do with what God gives you. Luke 12:48
b. Corporate preparation. Eph 4:11-12.
i. Staff and lay leaders are called and equipped by God.
1. Eph 4:11 And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
ii. Their purpose is to prepare the believers to accomplish the great commandment.
1. Eph 4:12 for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:
c. Team Work
i. Individual saints working together to accomplish the great commission.
1Co 12:18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
ii. Individual saints using their God given gift in their God given place of service.
1Co 12:19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?
1Co 12:20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.
1Co 12:21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

3. Reaching Lost Souls for Christ.
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

a. Divine Command.
i. Jesus said Go. Vs 19.
1. Not a choice.
ii. Collective Command. Vs 18.
1. Speaking to the disciples as a group.
2. The group, like a body, is made up of individual members. The group cannot achieve without the individual members
b. Divine Power.
i. Jesus claimed all power. Vs 18.
Jer 10:10 But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.
Jer 10:11 Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
Jer 10:12 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
ii. We will accomplish the great commission only through his power.
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
c. Divine Presence. Vs 20.
i. He promised to be with us as we do his work.
ii. He promised never to leave us.
Heb 13:5 ……for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
